Create Social Media Sound Clips
Creating a social media sound clip is one of the most effective ways to maximise the impact of your release. Platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts are driven by short, engaging audio moments and a well-chosen clip can help your music reach new audiences, encourage UGC, and drive listeners to your full track.
This guide explains how to create and manage a social media sound clip within your release, along with key settings to ensure it appears correctly across platforms.
How to Set Up a Sound Clip
Open your co:brand dashboard and click Release Music.
Click the edit pen button next to your release.
If this is your first time setting up the release:
Enter your metadata in Release Details and Track Details.
You must complete this before you will be able to add any social sounds.
If you are editing an existing release:
Go directly to the Social Sounds section, as your metadata will already be present.
The tracks available for sound clips will be listed in this view.
Click Create Sound for the relevant track.
You will see the following screen:
Sound Clip Settings
Title
Enter a title for your sound clip.
This title will be visible on DSPs (TikTok, Meta platforms, and YouTube Shorts).
Ensure capitalisation, grammar, and punctuation appear exactly as you want.
You do not need to:
Specify the section of the track (e.g. Chorus)
Credit the artist in the title (e.g. Clip 1 β Artist)
Typically, sound clip titles are the same as the track name.
Identifiers
You should generate a new ISRC and a new UPC for every sound clip you create.
Clip Length
You can adjust the duration of your clip.
Release Timing
You can release your sound clip before the main release date:
Select Release sound clip at a different time
Choose your preferred release date
Save and Submit
Click Done to save your changes.
To ensure your sound clips are properly ingested, select Submit Updated Release rather than just saving and exiting the page.
Additional Information
You can create multiple sound clips per track.
Generate a new UPC and ISRC for each clip.
co:brand does not currently integrate Meta platform delivery in-app.
