Launch a Meta Campaign in co:brand

How to set up and launch a Meta Ads campaign using co:brand.

Requirements

Before launching your campaign, make sure you’ve completed the following:

Once everything is ready, click Create Campaign and follow the steps below.

Step 1. Campaign Details

Start by entering your basic campaign details:

  • Select the Artist and associated Drop profile

  • Name your campaign for internal tracking

    • If running multiple regional campaigns, include the target locations in the name for easy identification

  • Select your Meta Pixel

  • Confirm the connected Facebook Page and Instagram account

Budget & Schedule

  • Set your campaign duration and budget

  • If using a daily budget, we recommend setting a defined end date to avoid unintended spend

    • Best practice: minimum daily budget of $50 USD for effective optimization and performance

Budget Objective

Choose your campaign objective carefully. This cannot be changed once the campaign is live.

  • Conversions (recommended): Optimizes for users who click the ad and complete an action on the destination page

  • Clicks: Optimizes for users likely to click the ad

  • Views: Maximizes reach and impressions

Step 2. Destination

  • Select the Drop page that will serve as your campaign destination

  • If applicable, choose the associated track to track streaming performance alongside campaign results

Step 3. Audience Targeting

Define your audience and select targeting strategies.

Age Targeting

  • Recommended minimum age: 18+

    • Some regions have restrictions on targeting minors, which can impact delivery

  • Your selected age range applies to:

    • Discovery

    • Interest-Based targeting

Note: Fanbase Retargeting defaults to ages 18–65 due to Meta limitations (custom audiences cannot be age-restricted).

Location Targeting

  • For city-level targeting, use the Search Locations bar and select your targeting radius

  • For country-level targeting, use the Tier 1 or Tier 2 shortcuts to group countries by Spotify tiers, or use the Search Locations bar for individual search

  • These locations will apply to all strategies

Targeting Strategies

You can enable 1-3 strategies per campaign. Each strategy creates a separate Ad Set in Meta.

Discovery (default)

  • Uses Meta’s algorithm to find audiences within your selected age and location.

Interest Based

  • Targets users based on interests such as:

    • Music genres

    • Artists

    • Events

  • Multiple interest categories can be selected

Fanbase Targeting

  • Targets custom audiences using first-party fan data

  • Options include:

    • Existing fans

    • Lookalike audiences

    • Or both

  • To use Fanbase Targeting you must have at least 2,000 unique fan emails stored in co:brand

4. Ad Creatives

Enter your ad copy details:

  • Headline

  • Caption text

  • Select a call-to-action button

Creative Assets

  • Upload new assets or pull content from linked Facebook/Instagram accounts

Placement Targeting

  • Confirm the devices, platforms, and formats where you want ads to appear

Once uploaded:

  • Preview your ads across placements and formats

  • Cycle through variations to ensure everything looks correct

5. Review Campaign

Before launching:

  • Double-check all campaign details for accuracy

  • Make any necessary edits

You can still update most campaign settings after launch including Creatives, Strategies and Locations, but core elements (like Budget Objective and Pixel ID) cannot be changed.
