🔗 co:brand Guide: Creating a Listening Drop Link

I want to share my new release, how do I do this?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Now that your release is about to go live, or has gone live, you can create a listening drop link to share with fans! Up until this point, you have probably been utilising the ‘pre-save’ drop like feature which we offer, with Apple and Spotify pre-save links readily available - but with listening links you can now share where your release is live on other DSPs.

  • In your co:brand organisation, head to the left hand column and select ‘drops’

  • If you have an active pre-save, you can easily flip this to a ‘listening link’ by hitting ‘edit’ and selecting the appropriate option - this should be considered on release day itself so to continue reaching all of the fans that have signed up to your pre save already - HOWEVER:

  • If you would like to create a new listening link drop, or if you are collating links using a VPN ahead of the release going live in the territory that you are located in, you should click ‘create new drop’

Warning: to utilise the drops feature in app, the artist that you are promoting will need to have their profile set up.

  • Click ‘create new drop’

  • Select listening link as the template

  • Enter title+description metadata:

  • Click add streaming links

  • Click ‘add links’ and relevant boxes for DSPs will appear, with empty spaces for the links that you collate

  • Then, search for your release on each DSP listed (or the ones which you would like links for), i.e. head to Spotify, type in your release, and copy+paste the link of your live release into the relevant DSP box in co:brand

  • You will need to manually collate links from all of the DSPs which you would like links listed for on your drop

  • Once you have populated all fields, hit ‘done’

This is what it should look like (with appropriate URLs listed underneath each DSP):

  • Then, you can reorder these if needed, by clicking and dragging the 3 lines on the left of each link

  • You’ll notice that the basic details tab is still marked as incomplete, this is because you need to fill out the link URL name

  • You can call this anything you like, we find shorter URLs usually with the song title are best received:

  • You’ll then see that the left hand column shows all fields as being filled and you are ready to finish your drop…

  • You can amend details like the drop profile in ‘style and design’ and even include timer countdowns to the release. In content, you can also add youtube official videos which will be embedded nicely at the bottom of your drop. You can see what the drop will look like at any time by checking out the right hand window!

  • Once your drop is completed, hit ‘save and exit’

  • And then ‘copy link’ in the top right hand corner to share your drop with the world!

  • Sign up information will be populated on this page too once fans sign up. You can change the content of your drop at any time by hitting the pen icon or ‘edit drop’ on the main drop page - and keep the same link.

  • You will also see your drop appear in your list of drops on the main ‘drop’ page for your artist profile.
